DESCRIPTION

Hi Everybody!

We have the Sand Island Park trail reserved for December 4 for a FUN day of running and racing!

Be a part of a new Holiday event in the Lehigh Valley. The race offers a nice course next to the river, a flat course to fast times, excellent shirt art and awards, post race hot chocolate. All athletes will also receive an oval THAWED Sticker as well.

Compete in the 5k/5 Mile Challenge
Be eligible for more awards and receive a Thawed bar glass! The Challenge is to run the 5k at 9 am, then the 5 mile at 10 am. There are awards for the Challenge competitors as well. You can win awards in the 5k, the 5 mile and in the Challenge! Please see the awards section below.

Walkers are welcome in the 5k race. There will be awards for walkers as well.

We'll have plenty of porta-potties and a well organized event. 

We are happy to answer any questions you have! We'll see you December 4!

STUFF WE ALL GET (SWAG)

All athletes will receive a very cool Thawed T-shirt and a finisher's coffee mug for your favorite post-race or morning beverage!

We'll have plenty of hot chocolate available to test drive your new mug.

AWARDS

Awards for the 5k and 5 mile races, as well as the 5k/5 Mile Challenge

  • First overall female and male.

  • Top three in each age group: 1-10, 11-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-Over.

5k Walk Awards

  • First overall female and male.

  • Top 3 in these age groups: 1-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80-Over.
RACE DAY SCHEDULE

DECEMBER 4, Check-in is at the Ice House for event check-in and post race festivities.

  • Athlete check-in 07:30-08:45 am

  • 5k race start 09:00 am

  • 5 Mile race start 10:00 am

  • Live results posted as you finish. All athletes will be sent the link so they can see if they received an overall or age group award. If you do, just go with your phone to the Ice House and you'll get your awards

  • Post race hot chocolate is available for all athletes at the Ice House as well.
RACE ROUTE

Both the 5k and 5 Mile races are on the trail. It is hard packed and flat. We'll have a aid station for the 5k at mile 1.25 (you'll also see at at mile 1.8 after the 5k turnaround). The 5 Mile race can sue the mile 1.25 aid station and also the mile 2 aid station, so that will have 5 mile runners passing an aid station at miles 1.25, 2, 3 and 3.75).

Walkers are welcome in the 5k race. There will be awards for walkers as well.

PARKING

There is plenty of parking near the start/finish line with additional parking just over the bridge .3 miles from the park.
